Chalcedony Earrings
09 Aug in Jewellery | Comments (0)I made this pair of earrings using the same faceted chalcedony as the ones in the BLUE CHALCEDONY AND GOLD CHAIN bracelet. The blue is such a gorgeous colour and they are perfect earrings for summer weather (I hope there will be an English summer this year………..?) The Chalcedony works as well with silver as it does with gold and I still love this stone!

Red and Gold Bridal jewellery

Annie’s wedding was earlier this month. Her colour scheme was red and gold and she contacted me for jewellery for her 4 bridesmaids. She chose a medium crystal Heart on Red Ribbon for the necklaces, but I made them using 14ct Gold components instead of silver, in order to match her colour scheme. Annie also liked the idea of some bracelets and I used some gold vermeil chain and made some delicate cluster bracelets using gold vermeil beads and an assortment of deep red swarovski crystals.

Corrine Wright
01 Aug in The Cottage | Comments (0)I met Corrine Wright last year, she is a potter/ceramist who lives and runs her studio in Botley, Hampshire. I particularly loved her range of “ladies” – these little figurines are whimsical and dreamy and Corrine puts such a lot of thought and love into them, each one is a little individual.
Corrine was kind enough to souce a “Twinkleberry” pink for me and so my Twinkleberry lass is just gorgeous and I used her a lot to display my jewellery on during the christmas fairs. I was tempted to commission a range to stock on the site, but decided against it as they are fragile and I just could not guarentee them surviving the post…..sadly!

Silver Disc Necklace
23 Jul in Jewellery | Comments (0)My latest piece uses one of my favorite silver chains. It’s a fairly heavy silver chain which is a combination of round links and oval links. I’ve wire wrapped some brushed silver discs into the links and snuggled up to each disc is a little gold bead!

Pearl and Silver Bracelet
03 Jul in Jewellery | Comments (0)A girl can never have too many wrist adornments ( or neck…..or ear…..or finger…..but that’s another story!) and as my friend Rose had sooooo many ( yes, there is a tinge of green in there) gorgeous, big, creamy pearls I made her another Pearl bracelet, this time with silver links and a toggle clasp.

Rose Gold and Pearl Bracelet
22 Jun in Jewellery | Comments (1)For Rose’s bracelet I used 6 unusual beads made from Rose Gold. This specific gold has a wonderfully warm colour and complements the pearls beautifully. The bracelet fastens using a matching Rose Gold Toggle Clasp.

Pearl Necklace

I love pearls, they don’t have to be be perfect and costly or even white….. I love the imperfections of a freshwater pearl and the size of a baroque, I love the texture of coin pearls and the delicacy of seed pearls, I am a real pearl girl.
So my little heart skipped a beat when my friend Rose arrived with a very long strand of the most beautiful, enormous, white freshwater pearls. The strand needed restringing and it was also very long, we worked out that we could get a 50cm necklace as well as two bracelets out of it.
As these pearls were the star of the show Rose wanted a classic pearl necklace made. I strung them in the traditional way, knotting between each pearl and I used a beautiful gold toggle clasp as a fastening.

Three times a week, come rain (yes, honestly, I have even run in the rain) or shine, I go out for a 3.5 mile run through the fields surrounding our village. Up until now it’s been a very relaxed affair, with no pressure, just a little “me time”.
But recently I realised (with a bit of help from my quite competative husband David) that to take up to 45 minutes to run 3.5 miles is pretty pathetic. So, no more gentle jogging, no more taking time to smell the flowers – it’s serious!
I’ve been working really hard to get my time down to 35 minutes – which is a fairly acceptable 10 minute mile and today I did my best time ever – 33.36!
Silver flower and Peacock Pearl Necklace
08 Jun in Jewellery | Comments (0)
The latest piece to be added to the site is a beautiful Pearl Necklace, made using the loveliest peacock blue freshwater pearls and tiny silver beads. I have made this necklace in the traditional way of stringing pearls which is on silk thread.
It’s a very time consuming, labour intensive way of stringing, but the necklace will then drape beautifully and because there is a knot between each pearl, should the strand ever break, you will never loose more than 1 pearl.
The pendant is something special…… The most beautiful solid silver flower, hand made in a fair trade co-operative in Thailand. The silver is 99.9% pure fine silver and is truly spectacular.
